Ben and Mirna Udy - We have lived in Cofradia, Cortes, Honduras since early 1998. An effort to find the best possible education for our three children has evolved into a new model experimental school. The reality of Globalisation and our personal views on social justice convinced us to try something a little different. First and foremost we needed to insure that children from all socio-economic levels had access to a quality education and second we needed to bring some reality of the entire human world to children who thought of the world only in terms of “poor” Honduras and “rich” United States with the rest of the world being not much more than an idea that there was more but that it was not really significant to their lives. Cofradia’s Bilingual School [1] is the result of our work in this field.
