Riddim Driven: Mr Brown Meets Number One is the seventeenth album in VP Records', Riddim Driven series. It was released in December of 2001 on CD and LP. The album, produced by Donovan Germain, features various artists recorded over re-licks of two classic reggae riddims from Gregory Isaacs. The first six tracks are across Isaacs' "Mr. Brown" riddim, while the last 10 are over his "Number One" riddim. Both tunes were big hits for Isaacs' during the 1970's and he records updated versions of both on this compilation. The last four tracks only appear on the CD edition. They are replaced on the vinyl edition by two version tracks, one before the Isaacs & Griffiths duet and the second at the very end.
