[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:SynaMax - Reverb! excerpt.ogg)
|
Thanks for uploading Image:SynaMax - Reverb! excerpt.ogg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that your image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If your image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why your image was deleted. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
An alternative would be to release it under a free license like {{GFDL-self}} or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}}. Stifle (talk) 15:41, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Stifle's right--you have to license it under a free license if you want to use it here. Chick Bowen 15:48, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Okay then! I'll change the license. But, I still own the entire song, right? -- Mr. Sinistar 15:58, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, you would still own the copyright, but it would be licensed so that anyone could use it for any purpose. Chick Bowen 16:06, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Great! Okay, I removed the deletion tag and added the GFDL License. Thanks a lot! -- Mr. Sinistar 16:11, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- To clarify, people can use the sample for most purposes and create derivative works from them, but they must also relicense any derivatives under the GFDL if they release them. And they have to include all 3301 words of the GFDL with said release. Stifle (talk) 13:53, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

Hey I don't think that sample was ever cleared or officially credited, it took me about a year before it clicked with me what it it may be (still not sure, that's why i wrote the mention so carefully in the article itself). I had heard a while back that J.J. made a sample cd which he released, try the "alternative Ztt" forums if you haven't already. If you really want hard to nail samples, try Yello!--207.69.137.20 04:12, 12 January 2007 (UTC) P.s. just saw you wrote to JJ, did he confirm the sample??--207.69.137.20 04:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I bought J.J.'s sample CD. Unfortunately, a lot of the samples that I love from the early AoN years (especially at ZTT) are missing from the CD. There's no "Leave It" baritone "dum", no "ahh" or "ow" sounds from Beat Box (still trying to figure out what exactly are those sounds) and no long drawn-out "I" that sounds like "Can't Help Falling In Love" on that CD. However there are a lot of samples from "In Visible Silence" especially samples from tracks like Peter Gunn, Backbeat, Eye of the Needle.
Unfortunately, I forgot to ask JJ what exactly is that long "I" sample. I did ask him what sounds were being played around 1:47 through 2:15 in the original Beat Box (the "AHH!" and "OW!" sounds) and he thought I was referring to the "yenom" or "backwards 'money'" sample, which I already knew about. :-( Pardon me for asking, but do you know what those "AHH", "OW" samples are?
P.S. Yeah, I bet Yello's Samples are REALLY HARD to nail down! LOL
P.S.S. I'll post this message on your User Talk page just in case you didn't receive a message that I responded. Thanks in adavnce! -- Mr. Sinistar 06:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jjcd2.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

[edit] Sondra Prill
Hello there, I am sorry for using your talk page to make a personal request, but I noticed you had uploaded a sample of the song 'Nasty' by Sondra Prill. For very important historical reasons, I need to obtain a complete copy of this non-commercially released song. Would it be at all possible for you to send it to me, at algabal @ inbox.com (with no spaces)? Thanks! Algabal 04:05, 12 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sondra_Prill_-_Nasty_Boys_excerpt.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:Sondra_Prill_-_Nasty_Boys_excerpt.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 22:11, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image:The_Art_of_Noise_-_Beat_Box_excerpt.ogg
I have tagged Image:The_Art_of_Noise_-_Beat_Box_excerpt.ogg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 22:38, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
