[edit] Test
Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. --Tom Harrison Talk 17:37, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- For future readers of this notice, what happened was I stuck something in a dead article about Pokémon to make sure that Wikipedia was as secure as it says it is, and I would try to help make it better if it wasn't. So don't think I'm a bad person just because of this. Random the Scrambled 18:42, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Please refrain from adding nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to Talk:Haemophilia. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. T. J. Day 15:40, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
I should have been more descriptive. Your edit removed the entire content of the page Talk:Haemophilia. Since you have retracted your comment on my user talk page, I have removed your comments, no offence. T. J. Day 15:48, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- And what happened here was I tried to cut-and-paste Haemophilia and its talk page to the American spelling before I knew moves should be requested. See below. Random the Scrambled 13:51, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Cut & paste move
Mr Random, you manually moved content from haemophilia to the page that employs the US spelling.
Please be advised that "cut & paste moves" are not the accepted way to move pages. In fact, this messes up the page history, and may even make pages non-GFDL compliant. The correct way of doing a move is listing it at Wikipedia:Requested moves.
I have undone your manual move. Hope you don't mind. Please let me know if you've got any questions. JFW | T@lk 08:36, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Please aknowledge you have read the above message. You have now repeated the same move, in contradiction to policy, despite my message above. Please be advised that this may be interpreted as WP:POINT. JFW | T@lk 15:13, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, when I did that, I hadn't read that message. Sorry. Random the Scrambled 10:52, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
I only found your message on User talk:Jfdwolff/Archive 18 later. Sorry. I have completed your request for a page move at Talk:Haemophilia. Please vote there.
The moving process is a bit complicated. I made the same error in my first week on Wikipedia (incidentally involving haemochromatosis). Basically, if you copy & paste text to other articles it mixes up the previous versions of the page, a prerequisite of the GNU Free Documentation License under which Wikipedia operates.
Haemophilia is in fact the UK spelling, which is very commonly used apart from in the US. JFW | T@lk 18:49, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia has long since agreed to leave Anglo-American spelling differences alone. I use hemophilia myself; but I agree with this policy. Creating new accounts to discuss a decision will result in their being ignored, and may result in your own account being blocked from editing. Please stop this; it's not even causing as much aggravation as you may suppose. Septentrionalis 17:56, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- I told you, I did not create those accounts. Random the Scrambled 20:48, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Advice
When walking in the woods it is advisable to know what a bear-trap looks like. [1]

[edit] Blocked
I've blocked you for twenty-four hours for being a disruptive nuisance with your behavior on Haemophilia. When your block expires I hope you'll return and make a useful contribution. Tom Harrison Talk 21:17, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- Who are you calling a disruptive nuisance? I told you, I am not the only one who uses this server! {{unblock}} But I did notice someone doing that... Random the Scrambled 00:33, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
-
- Well the edit history shows the person in question to be logged in with this account, since you seem to be saying this is a shared user account, which is outside the rules I'll extend the block to indefinite. Create your own user account that you and only you use and such confusion will be avoided in the future. --pgk(talk) 07:08, 21 April 2006 (UTC)

- That's not it at all. Someone else was on this computer (probably the vandal), and then got off so I could use it and log in. And since you say that, I'll tell you that Sparky5333 and Chaoman55 are my sister and brother, respectively.
-
Just to let you know, I've blocked you for another two days for your obvious sockpuppeteer activity. Let's make something clear: Wikipedians are not stupid, and sockpuppet use for vote-rigging will not be tolerated. Understood? Have a nice day. —Nightstallion (?) Seen this already? 14:17, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- They aren't sockpuppets, but I did find out that they qualify as meatpuppets, except Sparky5333 and Chaoman55 who are indeed my younger siblings. And as for the time where they were all there at once, I was having a party and they were all over. Sorry for any confusion. Oh, and I had absolutely no knowledge about Wonderfulauthorofsap. You can keep him banned. Requests: unblock Sparky5333 and Chaoman55, consider unblocking all the rest, keep Wonderfulauthorofsap blocked. Random the Scrambled 18:51, 28 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Infobox City Empty syntax
What did you mean by your comments about the empty syntax on the Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2006 June 1? —MJCdetroit 17:11, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
- Template:Infobox City has "Empty syntax" at the top of it along with some other gibberish, and below that is a whole bunch of code. I'm pretty sure something needs fixing... Random the Scrambled 11:15, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- It is just there as an example and does not affect the articles that the template is inserted into. See Detroit, Michigan for an example of how it works. —MJCdetroit 13:19, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks. Feel free to delete that part of my comment if you wish. Random the Scrambled 18:25, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

- I'll just strike out the comments. That example will probably be moved or deleted after the templates have been switched. —MJCdetroit 19:11, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] NOTICE from Random to Public
To anyone reading my user page, please don't block me because of the "Things you shouldn't do around me" part of it. But don't do any of those things on my talk page, please. But seriously... What's there to hate about IE? I see what there is to hate about Firefox... It never works. Random the Scrambled 11:35, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My user page
Free speech, comedic license... call it what you like, my user page is NOT changing. Thank you JayKeaton 15:13, 13 June 2006 (UTC) Besides, it is hardly a "personal attack" if it isn't actually personal, you have to agree ^_^ JayKeaton 15:17, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Personal attack
What you did could have been considered vandalism. It was irrevelant and out of place. I'm sorry if I came off harsh, it's just that I deal with a lot of deliberate vandalism everyday. It wasn't meant to be personal. --CyberGhostface 03:15, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, so what you're saying is that I was violating a WP policy... No offense taken. Random the Scrambled 11:48, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WP:AIV
I noticed that you were asking individual administrators to block users for vandalism. If you believe a user needs to be blocked for vandalism, and they have vandalised after a {{test3}} or {{test4}} warning that was given within the last 24 hours, the correct place to report them is WP:AIV. (I'm adding this message because you mentioned that you weren't sure what the proper procedure was.) --ais523 15:14, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I can't express my thanks to you enough. (this isn't sarcasm) Random the Scrambled 16:04, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sephy
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. (aeropagitica) (talk) 16:25, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I'll tell you what happened. I wanted to set up a redirect to Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII), but it wouldn't work, so I wanted to delete it, but before I found out how, you put this up here. I would have deleted it myself if I could... Long story short: That wasn't an experiment, that was a failed redirect. Random the Scrambled 16:27, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] A short Esperanzial update
As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Templates
Here are some of the templates you wanted:
I, Mr. Random, have deleted the templates themselves to avoid distorting Category:Male Wikipedians. You can view them by copy-pasting the code into the sandbox or just comparing my user page to its source code.
The code is:
{{User male}} {{User IE}} {{User christianity}}

[edit] Notice from me
Preferring Firefox over IE is hereby a BANNED BEHAVIOUR on this talk page. Any comments that support Firefox or denounce IE will be removed without warning. Random the Scrambled 15:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Actually, Firefox may be better (I'm noticing it's a lot faster), but I'm just not used to a complete browser changeover, so I may change my mind in a while... Random the Scrambled 00:15, 16 July 2006 (UTC)- Yup, I changed my mind. You can say good stuff about Firefox, just don't trash IE, okay? I think you can live with that. Random the Scrambled 01:24, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help needed with HTML
How do I make my web page pick up what browser the viewer is using, and redirect them to another page depending on which one? (this may not be possible, but I know that picking up the browser name is) Random the Scrambled 17:11, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Let's get this straight
Here's my list of browsers for Windows: (from best to worst)
IE 7 w/Google Toolbar
IE 7 w/o Google Toolbar = Firefox w/Google Toolbar = Firefox w/o Google Toolbar
IE 6 w/Google Toolbar
IE 6 w/o Google Toolbar
(Note: I've never tried Opera or Netscape, so I didn't put them up here.)
And now I have a question for all IE haters: How is making Bill Gates mad a good thing? (question especially directed to the makers of this site)
[edit] Another question
If I request adminship, can CutManFan and Gamefreak426 (for those who weren't here when their old usernames [Sparky5333 and Chaoman55] were accused of being my sockpuppets, CMF is my sis and GF426 is my bro) vote in the RfA? Just wondering (not that I will RfA soon, I just want to know before I do). Random the Scrambled 14:37, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Hello
Hey Mr.E, weve got a new burning sand forum up and runing, sorry if you posted on my talk a while ago, i dont usualy sign in, there isnt many changes that i see need to be done and so I see no need to sign in, when im just browsing, and im horrable at the wikicode, Can you work on the burning sand page that i tried to do, burning sand is not part of falling sand, and should have its own page, not be a redirect. You seem to be good at the code, judging by your long list of stuff in here, so could you try and make it a good page of its own. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Atlasrune (talk • contribs)
- Is this from Atlasrune? Just a pointer... When commenting on talk pages, always sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). And I'll work on the Burning Sand page. Random the Scrambled (?)(Vandalism and other nonsense!) 14:18, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, Random, I reverted the external link changes you made as they appeared to lead to a) some kind of german media site and b) nothing. The original links appear to be fine. Righto then :> Marasmusine 19:17, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- That's strange. The title of the page is spelled that way. Thanks anyway. Random the Scrambled (?)(Vandalism and other nonsense!) 19:41, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
