Mpxplay is an audio player for DOS / FreeDOS and Win32 operating systems. It supports AAC, AC3, APE, FLAC, MP2/MP3, MPC, Vorbis, WMA, WV audio codecs , WAV files, and can play sound from videos using the OGG and ASF containers. It also supports the following playlist types: M3U, M3U8, PLS, FPL, CUE, MX. DOS version uses a 32-bit DOS_extender (by now DOS/32A is the preferred one).

Mpxplay supports many features unique to it among DOS media players. These include:
- Native support of many new sound cards and chips
- realtime cross-fading
- LCD display support
- Unicode
- Support for reading and displaying long filenames using the DOS TSR DOSLFN.

DOS version of Mpxplay requires cca 100MHz i486 CPU or faster for realtime play-back, exact value depends mostly from audio codec and file format used. 4-8 MiB RAM is also required. FreeDOS or MS-DOS 5.00+ or equivalent is required.
