3rd Parliament of King James I | (1620) |
This was the First Parliament of King James I. It was summoned on 31 January 1604 to meet on 19 March 1604. The Parliament was dissolved on 9 February 1611 after a term of six years, ten months and twenty-one days.
The references, in the constituency section of the table, to the numbers of seats in a constituency has no relevance except to make clear how many members were elected in a particular constituency.
In this era no organised political parties existed.
The principal source for this list is Cobbett. However, if the constituency article differs from Cobbett, the version of a members name in the article is used and Cobbett's version is put in a note.
Peers of Ireland are differentiated from the holders of courtesy titles by including the succession number to the peerage, i.e. The 1st Earl of Upper Ossory is an Irish peer and Viscount Dupplin is the holder of a courtesy title.

Notes
- ^ Cobbett's Parliamentary History records the second member for Hastings in the 1604 Parliament as being James Lasher, but this seems to be an error; Lasher is mentioned only in the Commons Journal from 1621 while Carew was certainly a member in 1604, and other sources name his constituency as Hastings. Carew was, on the 4 June 1605, created the 1st Baron Carew of Clopton.
