[edit] Misleading Link

This link is definitely misleading. It's no more in-depth than any number of pages found by Googling "mpq file format" and the site itself admits that it was copied directly. This should not be considered an authoritative source and should be removed. Robert Paveza 22:20, 8 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] References

It seems that some editors have classified the references provide in this article as being inadequate and unauthoritative. It should be noted that because of the nature of this topic, there are no references that can satisfy their criteria (eg. The Oxford University's Completely Utterly Official Encyclopedia of File Formats). However, the references that are provided, I consider them adequate because they work in real life and have for some time. This is commonly accepted information in the modding community. To draw parallels, if we can quote from so called 'underground magazines' for certain computing articles, which have no authors, only handles, no publishing company as they are distributed covertly, and these are accepted as 'valid authoritative references', then surely we can accept the equivalent for the modding community.
