NWA Tri-State Wrestling was an American professional wrestling promotion that ran shows mainly in Alabama,Kentucky and Tennessee owned by Nick Gulas[1]. The promotion was founded in the 1940s and was a National Wrestling Alliance territory until it closed down in 1981 [2].

Besides owner Nick Gulas the Mid-America territory also included a couple of other promoters who worked under Nick Gulas’ “Mid-America” banner. Roy Welch promoted exclusively in Memphis, TN from the 1940s until 1977 when Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler took over the territory and formed the Continental Wrestling Association and took over the most profitable part of the Mid-America territory[3]. John Cazana promoted the Knoxville, Tennessee area from 1953 until 1974. Joe Gunther promoted the Birmingham, Alabama area from the 1950s until the 1970s
