The shelter Mpafi belongs in the Greek Mountaineering Contact E.O.S. Athens which was founded in 1928 and is found in the Mount Parnitha, in altitude 1160 metres, roughly 2.5 km from Mont Parness, inside the national park.Ιn April 1937 became the deposit of foundation of the first stone of the shelter. The first part was completed in the fall 1939 with money that was assembled with collection mainly by the members of Mountaineering, but also other brothers associations. A crowd of paths begin from the shelter to all directions of Parnitha which can offer small and easy walks of half and one hour or long and difficult walks for exigent.
The access to the shelter is from the street that goes up in Parnitha to the casino “Mont Parness” , or from signaled path which begins from the parking lot of cable car and via the ravine of Choynis leads to the shelter. Also, from square Bathis leave buses of line 714 of OASA, for the Casino of Parnitha.
Today, the shelter is found in the better possible condition to entertain the people who visit it and climbers that love the mountainous nature but also all the people who love nature.It is open all days of the year, it allocates organised cooker and it offers home made foods, gently and drinks while is also provided the possibility of overnight stay at three big rooms of 10, 20 and 30 individuals, three four-bed rooms, and one two-bed room in the loft of the shelter.
