The papyrus is certainly old enough to be public domain, but this image also includes a modern transcription - the article cites Struve 1930, which is too new for the copyright to have expired (since it's a foreign publication it doesn't matter whether it's been renewed or not). Actually, all Soviet works published prior to 1973 are by default in public domain. See Template:PD-USSR. So, if Vasilij Struve is the author, it should be PD. bogdan ʤjuʃkə | Talk 13:48, 25 May 2005 (UTC)
Well, the full reference says it was published in Quellen und Studien zur Geschichte der Mathematik, in Berlin, despite being written by Russians. DopefishJustin (・∀・) 16:26, May 25, 2005 (UTC)
