[edit] Images
Stop uploading images from flicker.com, most are not fair use, only a select few that says somerightsreserved are, and the ones you are uploading are not among them. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 20:05, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
A few images fro flicker can be user if you credit the author who created the image in there, http://www.flickr.com/photos/suespolan/107765124/ is a example of a image that can be used, as it says some rights reserved and it's under that license http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/2.0/, upload those images in wikimedia commons not here, most other images in flicker are a no-no. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 20:22, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re:Opinion Please
What is your opinion on using images from www.flickr.com on Wikipedia?MP123 03:13, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- Some of the images on the site are released under compatible Creative Commons licenses — ones that allow commercial use and derivative works — and can be used on WP, provided that they are properly tagged and give all required attribution. Many other images, like this one, that you uploaded as Image:Cameron Maybin.jpg, state that all rights are reserved. ×Meegs 06:35, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
You have been blocked from editing for 72 hours. I wrote an extensive message to you at User talk:CubsFan2006#Final warning; you have ignored this and continued to upload copyrighted images with improper templates and bogus fair use claims. I will keep this message very brief:
- Please edit using only one account, User:CubsFan2006. If you would like to change your name of the account, you can do so at Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Do not upload copyrighted images until you thoroughly read and understand each of the links I provided you on your other talk page. Your 72 hour block from editing should give you time to begin the process. Do not use the {{promotional}} tag unless an image comes from a press kit. Remember that Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia and very rarely utilizes copyrighted images. After all of this time, thought, it may be best for you to leave those rare instances to others and stick to contributing text (that you yourself have written).

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Rose_Bowl_Stadium.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Rose_Bowl_Stadium.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

- Excuse the question, but are you also User:Microphon200, the photographer who claimed credit for Image:Rose Bowl Day After.JPG? They are clearly the same photograph, but the newer upload has reduced resolution and is a bit blurry. Is it ok if we delete it in favor of the older one? ×Meegs 21:29, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yes, keep the older one. And yes I am Microphon200.--MP123 03:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Note, though, that Image:Rose Bowl Day After.JPG is not currently in any articles. ×Meegs 16:10, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, keep the older one. And yes I am Microphon200.--MP123 03:04, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] user accounts
So, are these all your accounts: User:MP123, User:Microphon200, User:CubsFan2006? As you were advised above, please edit using only one account. The use of sock puppets is discouraged. --mtz206 (talk) 14:01, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Brian Urlacher.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Brian Urlacher.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:05, 7 June 2006 (UTC)
- Note that permission for use on the Wikipedia site is not sufficient: the images of the encyclopedia, like its text, must be licensed in a manner that makes them useable anywhere by anyone. ×Meegs 23:16, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Upload the picture to a new file and stop reverting in the meantime. --TJive 05:40, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to our encyclopedia. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing. However, unconstructive edits, such as those you made to Oscar de la Hoya, are considered vandalism. If you continue in this manner you may be blocked from editing without further warning. Please stop, and consider improving rather than damaging the hard work of others. Thanks. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 00:31, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Hines Ward.jpg
I listed Image:Hines Ward.jpg on WP:PUI as it's clearly not a promotional image as it came from a copyrighted news agentcy. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 03:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blocked
I blocked you indef for vandalism, uploading copyrighted images with false rationales, you been blocked before for this but keep on uploading. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 23:34, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hello MP123. I have asked Jaranda to shorten your block to a finite amount of time. While this account is blocked, however, I'd like to remind you and emphasize that, with the exception of this page, you are not permitted to edit Wikipedia at all, either anonymously or using another account. Violating this rule may lead to you being permanently banned. ×Meegs 03:28, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I reblocked to 2 weeks, if you upload one more copyvio image, or make another account, you are blocked indef. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 04:44, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
-
- I'd like to emphasize Jaranda's point. You have exhausted the community's patience with your uploads. I highly suggest, when you come back from this block, that you only edit the text of Wikipedia. You should not upload any copyrighted images, whether you found them on a web page or reproduced them from a printed source via scanner or digital camera. If you must contribute images, please be sure that they are entirely your own creation, such as your photograph of the Rose Bowl stadium. ×Meegs 05:50, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
how long am i blocked for?--MP123 00:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- 14 days, ending July 22 00:42 (UTC). If you're in the U.S., that is friday night. ×Meegs 00:23, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Minor Edits
Can minor edits only be made by registered users?--MP123 05:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't think so, but apparently. I just looked through all of the edits to Detroit, Michigan, and the last minor edit by an IP address was on 2002 September 25, so that option must have been disabled sometime between then and now. ×Meegs 05:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Joe Mauer.jpg
Hi. I've removed a message from OrphanBot about Image:Joe Mauer.jpg, which you recently retagged as {{no license}}. Thanks for helping to clean up these image you've uploaded. If you could finish the job and tag the rest of them (none of which meet fair use criterion #1, and most of which are likely not publicity photos meant for republication), that would be really helpful. Below is a list of all of them. The list's presence on this page will prevent any additional OrphanBot messages, by the way. ×Meegs 08:17, 26 July 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you created the page Joe Thomas (Offensive tackle) but a page previously existed at "Joe Thomas" now Joe Thomas (football player). I was going to redirect it to the latter, but thought that you might know best if there is any differing content to merge in. Feel free to go ahead and do so either way. [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Benito Mussolini Death.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Benito Mussolini Death.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ilse@ 22:23, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Ryan Clady
A tag has been placed on Ryan Clady, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NeilN 16:42, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Re Hilary Cruz's birthdate
It's not available on the internet but I would hardly call it a case of OR because it was published from the primary source and simply ended up, so to speak, in my lap. Just because something isn't available on the internet doesn't mean it doesn't have a reliable source! I can of course email you the document if you like or even email it to the OTRS system.... PageantUpdater talk • contribs 06:22, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- And re possible breast implants - and this is pure OR - one of the other (Miss) titleholders sent a message to one of the others congratulating Hilary and adding "the one good thing about her is that she is real (well most of her)". So you be the judge! PageantUpdater talk • contribs 06:29, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] October 2007
Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary, which wasn't included with your recent edit to Talk:Tom Leykis. Thank you. MBK004 02:45, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Talk:Tom Leykis, as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. MBK004 02:51, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Notability of Sam Keller

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Maddenqbvision.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Maddenqbvision.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:46, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tom Leykis
The way your addition is currently worded, and without a citation, it is original research, and also comes close to if not breaking WP:BLP. Please do not add this information again without a proper source. If you like, please bring it up here: Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. -MBK004 05:13, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Megan Hauserman
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Megan Hauserman, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Megan Hauserman. Optigan13 (talk) 21:05, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
