Mozanite

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mozanite is one of the diamond imitations that can fool many jewelers and users alike. It is a complex stone which is strikingly similar to a diamond, but can be identified with highly sensitive tools.
Mozanite stone is a transparent crystalline form of quartz also known as rhinestone.
To check whether the stone is an imitation of diamond, check these properties... If the stone:

  • can be scratched by a diamond
  • is warm to touch
  • is opaque in X-rays and
  • contains air bubbles when studied under magnification

then one can safely conclude that he / she has been fooled.
