[edit] Subtitle
"Tales of Agriculture" isn't actually a translation of "Moyashimon", it's just a subtitle or tagline for the series. So really the article should be called Moyashimon I think. I don't know for sure what Moyashimon means (if anything), but it's been suggested that it could mean "yeast culture", or be the name of Sawaki's family's yeast-making business. - Yeah I was wondering about that too, but in Anime News Network page, it is listed as Tales of Agriculture. Perhaps, it is planned to be released in U.S (either in manga or anime) and that might be the chosen english title.Stevefis (talk) 03:56, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
- About the title "Moyashimon (もやしもん)" - Yes, it has its (vague) meanings and I think I understand them to some degree, but I guess it's extremely difficult to "translate"; to say the least, it's more than translating "Good Will Hunting" (the title of the movie, of course) into other languages without losing its meanings. - Well, I'll try anyway. It's basically "moyashi-mon" and "moyashi" usually means "bean sprout" but it's originally a nominalized form of the verb "moyasu(萌やす)" (make something shoot/bud/grow/etc.) and the usuage here is the original one, I guess. - Or is it an adnominal dative, not really a noun? By the way, the jargon "moé" also is originated from this word. And, the "mon" is an informal form of "mono" (者 or 物) which means "thing" or "one" or maybe similar to the English suffix "-er". So, I guess the title vaguely refers to the microbes surrounding Sawaki and us. 210.151.207.174 (talk) 01:00, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
- "Moyasi(もやし)" is the jargon of a mold starter in Japanese brewing industry. Because the mold hypha of the aspergillus is similar in appearance to bean sprouts (Incidentally ,that called "moyasi" in Japanese, too) . In addition, "tane-kouji-ya(種麹屋)" that managed by Sawaki's parents is also called the alias "moyasi-ya(もやし屋)". Although Masayuki Ishikawa had not declared the origin of "Moyasimon", he said that it was related to "moyasi-ya".[1]--220.15.32.84 (talk) 13:08, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

- "Tales of Agriculture" is, as Samatarou said, the original sub-title (or a part of the title) of Moyashimon; it's like "Or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb" or "Stardust Memory" (Gundam 0083 you know) and I think I can safely conclude it is simply wrong as the title of this article now. Well, as for the ANN page, I guess they are not free from errors, as well as editors of Wikipedia. Anyway, I'm going to move this page. Darksider (talk) 23:46, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kei
Why does the character description mention absolutely nothing about the fact that he is a crossdresser? Question2 (talk) 03:41, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's not a high-traffic page. You can add this yourself, you know. —TangentCube, Dialogues 03:59, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- And probably you need to add the spoiler tag when you do it. 218.227.184.204 (talk) 05:17, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- According to WP:SPOILER, spoiler tags are not needed anymore in clearly marked sections of an article where a reader is bound to find spoilers, such as in a characters list; as such, the {{spoiler}} template was deleted and therefore isn't being used in any articles.--十八 06:28, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Moyashimon Chapters
I've created List of Moyashimon chapters and added a link to it on this page. The spot for the US release date is mostly wishful thinking.Grapeofdeath (talk) 22:54, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
