Movement for Democracy and Independence

Movement for Democracy and Independence (in French: Mouvement pour la Démocratie et l'Indépendence) was a political party in the Central African Republic. MDI was led by François Gueret. Gueret had served in David Dacko's cabinet, but resigned. MDI was fiercely anti-Soviet and somewhat pro-China. In the 1981 presidential elections MDI nominated Gueret.
