Category talk:Movement against intellectual property

I'm so happy there is a cat for the movement against ip; but not all of these entities & individuals could be properly characterized as "against" intellectual property. Many (most?) could be more properly described as for the reform of particular systems of IP; or for limiting IP; etc. I've set up a category called category:Intellectual property activism and a more specific one called category:Copyright activists. Those cats are complementary to this one; not all activists are abolitionists; not all participants in the "movement against" are necessarily "activists". Some might be people who had a one-off involvement in the movement, or a single contribution of scholarship, for instance, that doesn't constitute "activism". Other thoughts on organizing this area would be helpful. --LQ 15:16, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree. Some groups in the category, such as the Free Software Foundation, actually use copyright so it's inaccurate to say they're against it completely. Superm401 - Talk 07:28, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
