They can only be uploaded from your PC. What I mean is, perhaps by giving me a link you can give me a line of enquiry to find out the applicable license? asenine say what? 17:39, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
You would have to have OTRS permission from the copyright holder. asenine say what? 19:27, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

OK I checked it. To keep in mind: Email the photo to photosubmissionwikimedia.org In that email, you must explicitly state: 1)That you own the copyright on the photo 2°What copyright license you want to release it under. Whatever license you choose must allow the photo to be freely copied and modified by anyone (including third parties not affiliated with Wikipedia), for any purpose. [edit] Madagascar

Hi. I have done some work on the country a while back but User:Sadalmelik is the one to speak to about Malagasy stuff. Thanks and keep up the good work ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 16:45, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Andrianampoinimerina

Hi Mounblow, and let me also wish you welcome. I did notice Andrianampoinimerina was going through a major expansion, but didn't have time to take a good look – I have done practically nothing else than quick vandalism reverts this week. A little correction: I didn't start the article, but much of the text was from me. At that time, I was going to see how far I could take it and started to collect some journal articles I had access to (or rather the university I worked at the time had access). In the end, I realized I simply didn't know enough about Malagasy history and since I cannot read French or Malagasy, most of the sources would be out of my reach anyway. I still have the articles on my laptop, perhaps there might still be something usefull in them...

In general, the early history of Madagascar in Wikipedia is pretty much still to be written, there is a bit on some of the Merina monarchs but nothing else. I think there is nothing on the history of Sakalava at all, and the other tribes are far worse off. Frankly, I think you are the first person on Wikipedia to be familiar with the early history. So I hope you like the place – there are many articles to expand and DYKs to write!

I'll try see if I could help with Andrianampoinimerina this weekend. Don't expect too much from me, though – I'm certainly not an expert on topic. If there is something specific you are wondering, don't hesitate to ask. Cheers, – Sadalmelik 18:18, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

The content is good but it will need a lot of rewriting. Many of the sentences are far too long and have incorrect grammar. I'm not sure also if some of the red links would require an article either. Don't let this discourage you, writing a great article takes time and practice. It is very good to see somebody interested in writing about the country let alone its early history. There are far too few editors working on it ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 18:23, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

I wouldn't worry about the lack of ISBN, the older books simply do not have it. In principle, page numbers are required, but many (most?) editors do not bother with them – again, no worries. Page numbers are pretty much required for Good Articles and Featured articles, though. I did have a short copyedit on couple sections, and I'll leave some comments on talk page; I won't have time for more today. – Sadalmelik 18:30, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Ambohimanga Portal.jpg

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Ambohimanga Portal.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Zginder 2008-05-20T00:26Z (UTC)

[edit] Re:Sri Lanka and Madagascar history

Ayubowan. (may your life be long)

First I must say that I am no expert; just a student and an enthusiast in history. My knowledge is very limited and I know almost nothing of Madagascar. But there are a few things that many Sri Lankan people know. 'Madagascar' can be interpreted as 'with trees in the middle' in Sinhala. And as you should know, there was an invasion in 1215 by Kalinga Magha and also drought, famine and diseases; After that most of the population moved South and others North (almost destroyed our civilisation). And also we do have Buddhism, rice and outrigger canoes. Sri Lanka, India, Australia and Madagascar used to be connected by ground long ago.

And do you have substantial evidence to associate Sri Lanka to the Malagasy Merina nobility? And was there really Buddhism in Madagascar? I saw an image of a Bodhi tree from the Merina king's palace at your article (which possibly you uploaded). Then why doesn't the Madagascar article say anything of it?

Anyway, that's enough for now. Please answer me as soon as possible.
