[edit] Page title and names of the majors

There are a few little things to clean up here, but I'm uncertain about a few things. First, the title is "majors" but the list includes some things which are only offered as minors. Can the page name be changed to "majors and minors" or perhaps "fields of study"? (Or is changing a page name problematic?) Also, some of the names of the majors don't match what they are called at MHC (e.g., "English" vs. "English Literature".) There's also some inconsistency in capitalization, e.g., "literature" vs. "Literature". In a sentence I would use lowercase, but in a list like this I'm inclined to use caps.

I'll wait until tomorrow to make any edits in case anyone wants to weigh in. -Bdenneen 20:22, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Bdenneen, thanks for your willingness to clean up this template. Please go ahead and make the changes you list above. I'll offer some suggestions below:
a. I think your suggestion for a new title is a good idea. Here is how to change the title (which is actually a process which means moving the page): 1. Look at the tabs at the top of this page. b. Click on the "move" tab c. a new box will appear - in the area that asks for a new title, type the in the new title d. In the box called "reason," briefly give the reason (what you list above is fine). e. Click on "move page"
b. Names of majors - go ahead and change the names of the majors and any modifications to upper and lower case that are needed - if the title of the article that it is "wikilinked" to is different, simply place a | between the name of the article and the wording that you want to use (you can create this mark by pressing the shift key at the same time as the backslash key).
Let me know if you have any further questions. -Classicfilms 20:43, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the tips. Looks like it worked! I made one more change, removing the MA degree in psychology since it's not a distinct major, but rather a higher degree in a major already listed. Perhaps there should be another section for degrees and non-degree programs? Hi Bdenneen - looks great!! I went ahead and added a degree section. Take a look and see what you think - and feel free to tweak areas that need it. -Classicfilms 21:53, 11 July 2007 (UTC)
