[edit] Merge / Delete Proposition

I see no reason to have a separate article on every Mountain Dew clone. Most store brand products are not notable enough to make a full encyclopedia article about. Instead, I propose that Mountain Dew be expanded with a section about generic alternatives, or else that a separate generic Mountain Dew-like sodas article be created (preferably with a better name than my suggestion). • agree well put.
  • Agree Mountain Lighting probably does not warrant its own article. Your proposition to merge is better than the one to create an article separate for Mountain Dew clones, however. VarunRajendran(UTC)

  • Aggregrate generics to generic citrus sodas. Big-name brands (Mt. Dew, Mello Yello, etc.) should have their own articles, but the "other guys" can be consolidated. A section for generic alternatives is not acceptable, as the generics are alternative to each and every other major brand, and we don't want to have this info duplicated in multiple articles. ⇔ ChristTrekker 20:58, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
