[edit] What constitutes an eruption?

Is an eruption defined by juvenile magmatic material coming out of the vent?

If so, I'm not sure that either the 2004 activity or the 2000 activity qualify. In fact, the last *definitive* eruption of Shishaldin was 1999. Idocrase 18:34, 21 September 2005 (UTC)
