Talk:Mount Holly, Minnesota

Never heard of this place, but I'm looking forward to the Coen brothers movie. 8-) Andy Dingley (talk) 20:06, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Notability
If this is a genuine "town" according to the relevant definition for Minnesota, and it really is the smallest of all, then that's clearly notable. Verification of this would obviously be needed by citation of some atlas or gazeteer, but that's a slightly different question. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:25, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm not quite sure what to make of this. I'm willing to believe it's a "real" town from a legal standpoint, but there doesn't appear to be much in the way of reliable coverage. Lots of blogs and podcasts, but no real news coverage. Here's one possible source that has some information, but I'm not sure if it belongs in the "unreliable" pile or not. The whole thing just strikes me as something of a publicity stunt. --Bongwarrior (talk) 00:23, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Love it! I'm far from convinced that this makes it a "real" town, or for how long it will continue, but it seems to establish notability for our purposes, whether that's for being a town, or for the convoluted legal wrangling as to why it isn't. After all, we have articles on Sealand too. Andy Dingley (talk) 09:29, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
