Moussa Okanla

Moussa Okanla (born September 2, 1950) is a Beninese diplomat. Okanla was appointed as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government named on June 17, 2007.[1]

Okanla holds a PhD in political science, specializing in international relations, from the University of Michigan.[1]

Moussa Okanla is a scholar. After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1982, he joined the National University of Benin Law and Political Science Department. He has also acquired over 15 year-experience in international development. He was the Benin American African Institute representative (1987-1994), the Regional Democracy Advisor for USAID in Abidjan (1994-1998), the Governance Advisor for UNDP in Cotonou (1999-2000), and finally a Program Officer for a Danish-funded Program in Cotonou (2004-2007) from where he entered the present Government
