Mouse Museum

Unique in the world, the Mouse Museum is in the ancient city of Myshkin in Yaroslavl Region, Russia. The museum was created in 1990. The Mouse Museum boasts 2,000 mouse-related items from all over the globe. Mice made of various materials using diverse art techniques form a unique collection. Pieces have been gathered from different countries. In 1996, resourceful Myshkin people held The International Festival "Mouse-96". It contains a collection of children's toy mice, King-Myshaus, many dolls and exhibits on mouse-related subjects in general.
The museum badly suffered from fire on January 4, 2007: its main building of 96 sq. meters was almost completely destroyed. As it was supposed by Ministry of Emergency Situations the cause of fire was an imprudent management with the fireplace served as the main heating for the building.
King-Myshaus operates the virtual Kingdom MouseLand where the museum is located. The Mouse Museum is one of the main tourist sights in the Golden Ring of Russia.
