Mousa Chegini

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mousa Chegini (Persian: موسي چگيني) is an Iranian diplomat and politician.[1]

Chegini was among Iranian officials who were kidnapped by American militants in US raid on Iranian consular office in Arbil. He was released after 305 days on November 9 2007. "The Americans did not physically torture us but they repeatedly insulted us, made accusations and did not give us decent food," Mousa Chegini said after his release.[2]

"The release followed a careful review of individual records to determine if they posed a security threat to Iraq" the American officials said in a statement.[3] United States formerly accused Mousa Chegini and several other Iranian diplomats of being behind the insecurities in Iraq.
