Mountnugent

Mountnugent (Irish: Droichead Uí Dhálaigh) is a village in southern County Cavan, in the province of Ulster, Ireland. It is located on the River Inny and Lough Sheelin.

It hosts one public house (The Bridge Inn), one grocery shop (Smiths), one fuel station (Smiths), two vehicle repair shops (both Smiths), one drapery (Magees), one church and one school. The school has about 100 children and the village population is around 500.

The Mountnugent Festival is held annually every August bank holiday weekend. It is seen as a chance for the citizens of Mountnugent to get together and partcipate in many fun activities and generally bond as a community.
