Mount Sion, or Mount Zion (Hebrew: הר צִיּוֹןtransliteration: Har Tziyyon - "Height") is an archaic term that originally referred to a specific mountain near Jerusalem. The term became a synecdoche referring to the entire city of Jerusalem and the Land of Israel; it is often shortened to simply "Zion." Mt. Sion is the other name for "Baal-Hermon", also just called Mount Hermon.
