Mount San Jacinto State Park

Mount San Jacinto State Park encompasses the weathered granite summit of Mount San Jacinto at 10,834 feet above sea level the second highest mountain range in Southern California. It is close to both Los Angeles and San Diego. It is accessible by the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and lies on the Pacific Crest Trail.

Mount San Jacinto State Park is is one of the 48 California state parks proposed for closure in January 2008 by California's Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a deficit reduction program.[1]
