Mount Rose is a mountain located in the Sierra Nevada east of the California-Nevada border. It is located in the Mount Rose Wilderness in between Lake Tahoe and Reno[4] and is the county highpoint of Washoe County.[5] State Route 431 traverses Mount Rose Summit southeast of Mount Rose.[4] Due to the high elevation, most of the precipitation that falls on the mountain is snow.[6]
