Mount Miguel High School is public, comprehensive high school located in Spring Valley, California and serves 2,061 students in grades nine through twelve. Opened in 1957, Mount Miguel is the fourth of twelve high schools constructed in the Grossmont Union High School District. MMHS is the home of the Matadors.

Mount Miguel High School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a 1990 California Distinguished School.

Mount Miguel's athletic teams, the Matadors, compete in the South League of the Grossmont Conference and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) - San Diego Section.

The school fields teams in the following sports: baseball, boys and girls basketball, boys and girls cross country, football, boys and girls golf, gymnastics, boys and girls soccer, softball, boys and girls swimming & diving, boys and girls tennis, boys and girls track & field, boys and girls volleyball, boys and girls water polo, and wrestling.

  • Khalif Barnes, 2000, National Football League (NFL) offensive tackle, Jacksonville Jaguars
  • James Kirby 1967 Converted to Judaism in1994 and shortly thereafter gained national notoriety after shooting a woman sitting in front of him in the back during a showing of Schindler's List at a downtown San Diego multiplex theater. He later said that he didn’t expect the gun to go off, but was subsequently sentenced to 6 years in the state penitentiary.
  • Robert Griffith Strong safety for the Arizona Cardinals
  • J Robinson head wrestling coach for the Golden Gophers
