Mount Isa City Council is a Local Government Area in north west Queensland, Australia. The City area covers the urban locality of Mount Isa, the administrative centre, and surrounding area, sharing a boundary with the Northern Territory to the west.
Other towns in the City area include Camooweal. Industry in the City is based around the Mount Isa Mines, a source of Lead, Copper, Silver and Zinc. Cattle grazing and tourism are other industries of note. The population of the city council area is about 24,500. The Council is often referred to as the largest city by area in the world due to its "city" status.
