Mount Ida (Davenport, Iowa)

Coordinates: 41°31′52″N 90°33′14″W / 41.53111, -90.55389 Mount Ida is a summit overlooking the Mississippi River in Davenport, Iowa. It is located at 11th Street and Mississippi Street. The neighborhood of Mount Ida today would encompass Prospect Park and Terrace to the southeast as well as the various lanes to and fro, including Summit Street and what was once referred to as Adams Street.

Joseph Lane, an attorney and co-founder of Lane and Waterman, a law firm that is still in existence in Davenport, chose to build his home at the summit of Mt Ida just west of the village of East Davenport and Camp McClellen. Construction began shortly after the Civil War. Kay and Robert Kirk are the current owners of the Joe Lane house at the crest of Mt Ida.
