Mount Hermon High School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mount Hermon High School is located in Mount Hermon, Louisiana. The high school is currently housed out of the same facility as the Mount Hermon elementary and junior high schools. The current principal is Ruth Stoudenmier. As of 2005-2006, the school had 12 full-time teachers. The first Mount Hermon School, constructed in the mid-1800s, held classes in a log cabin near the Mount Hermon Cemetery. A new building was constructed for the school in 1885, and that structure is currently located in the Mile Branch Settlement at the Washington Parish Fairgrounds.
Mount Hermon High School was able to get a football team in 2006-07 for the first time since the 1940's. Back in the 40's Mount Hermon had a team but failed to impress anyone, after playing for 2 years without a single TD, they decided it not a good idea. But then in 2006, Mr. Russell Warren thought he could make a team of the boys at Mount Hermon. They played a great first season with a record of 2-7. That seems bad but most of these boys never played football in their lives. The first season was historical not only did they get more TD's in one season than their last team they won 2 games. Star Players: Kyle Jarrel, Jalen Briggs, Rashad Magee, Cody McDaniel, Shane Jarrel, Austin Knight, Bradley Perry, Trey Brumfield, Deandre Brown, and Joe Wall.
