From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mount Erie is a mountain and city park in Skagit County, Washington. The park land is owned and operated by the city of Anacortes. The mountain itself was first explored in the 1960s by local climbers, including Dallas Kloke. The mountain is known for its climbing as well as the view from the summit, accessible via a single-lane, paved road from the base.
At 1,273 feet (388 meters) tall, Mount Erie is the highest point on Fidalgo Island.
The band of former The Microphones singer/songwriter Phil Elvrum, respelled Mount Eerie, is named after this Northwestern location, it being where he grew up.
