Mount Carmel High School (Akola)

Mount Carmel High School at Akola is a Secondary and Higher Secondary School in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra in India. The school is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Government of Maharashtra, India. It is administered and maintained by the Roman Catholic diocese of Amravati. It is primarily a Catholic school, but is open to people of all faiths.

Mount Carmel School at Akola was established in 1977 by Rev. Fr. Nobert Braganza and under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Joseph Rosario (co-founder), the former bishop of Amravati. The school's first class consisted of 30 students.

Mount Carmel is a prestigious school in the region with its throughout Meritorious record. Many Alumni students from the school has topped the Maharashtra State Merit list Board X exams.
It has grown considerably since its opening, now educating around 4,000 students. It has a staff of around 110, out of which 70 are teaching staff. The school has a full library with approximately more than 10,000 books. School students have access to excellent Science Laboratories and modern Computer Labs. The school also provides its students with opportunities for participation in different Sports and Arts activities. It also promotes NCC, NSS and MCC activities among students. Scholarships are available on the basis of students academic record. The school is famous for overall development of its students.

Mount Carmel Junior College, as a supplement to the Secondary School was started in the year 2005 for providing Higher Secondary education for Stds. XI and XII students, keeping its dominance at the Junior college level.
