Mount Baronets

The Mount Baronets are a family with a baronetcy in the United Kingdom.
The baronetcy was settled on William Mount on 21 June 1921 and is still extant.
Wasing, Berkshire, is the family seat.

- Sir William Malcolm Mount, 2nd Baronet TD DL (28 December 1904–22 June 1993). Mount was a Territorial Army officer, High Sheriff of Berkshire, a Deputy Lieutenant of the same county and grandfather to David Cameron. He was the eldest son of Sir William Mount, 1st Baronet, and Hilda Lucy Adelaide, daughter of Malcolm Low, and was educated at Eton and New College, Oxford. On 17 October 1929 he married Elizabeth Nance Llewellyn, daughter of Owen John Llewellyn of Moulsford, Berkshire (now Oxfordshire). He inherited the baronetcy on 8 December 1930 on the death of his father.[1] He was commissioned into the 99th (Buckinghamshire and Berkshire Yeomanry) Brigade, Royal Artillery (Territorial Army) as second lieutenant in 1924[2] and was promoted lieutenant in 1926,[3] captain in 1937,[4] and major in 1938. He transferred to the Reconnaissance Corps on its formation in September 1941 and ended the Second World War as a lieutenant-colonel. Mount was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant in 1946,[5] and High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1947[6]. Mount was the grandfather of David Cameron, Conservative MP and Leader of the Opposition. He died at the age of 88.
