Mount Aspiring College is a secondary school in Wanaka, New Zealand. It was founded in 1989 after the division of Wanaka Area School. It is a state-run, co-educational school. The college, though normally a day school, operates a hostel beside the school grounds for 30 Year 13 students, who usually come to Mount Aspiring in order to attend its well-known Outdoor Pursuits programme.
The school has a reputation in New Zealand as a modern, dynamic institution. It is also noted for its rapid growth in its roll, usually attributed to the Outdoor Pursuits programme and the population explosion of Wanaka, and in its academic achievement.

- 1998-2008[3]: Mr. Maurice (Maurie) Jackways
In June 2007 Maurie Jackways went on leave to work as an advisor to Otago University for five months.[4] In November 2007 it was announced that this leave period would be extended to July 2008.[5] Wayne Bosley, the Deputy Principal, was the Acting Principal for the second half of 2007, and has continued in this role for the first part of 2008.[4] In the school newsletter of April 16th, 2008, Maurie Jackways announced that he has tendered his resignation as Principal, effective 18th July, 2008, and thus will not be returning to the job at the end of his leave period.[3] In the newsletter of May 16th, 2008, Board of Trustees Chairperson Grant Ruddenklau outlined the process for the selection of the new principal: Advertisements for the position will be placed on June 6th, and applications will close on July 15th, following which a shortlist will be drawn up and candidates interviewed by the Board.[6] Wayne Bosley will presumably continue as Acting Principal until an appointment is made.
