Color photograph of two mountain gorillas (Gorilla gorilla berengei), an adult female and a breastfeeding infant. Shows size difference between infants and adults, maternal behavior, and a frontal face of an adult female. These gorillas are part of the Nkuringo troop in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.

Taken in January 2005 by Kurt Ackermann (Wikipedia member KMRA) using a Pentax K-1000 camera body with a Sigma 100-300 zoom lens and Kodak ASA 400 speed film pushed 1 stop. Scanned using a desktop flatbed scanner in RGB colorspace and cropped to 570x518 pixels.
