On the 20th of Nov I changed the anatomy part. But this creates a conflict with the introduction and also the following chapter. I will try to work on them later. The original text is very confusing. "motoneurons" are said to synapse with motor fibers but then "upper motor neurons" (never heard of that term) in the cortex are said (via the hyperlink) not to do so. Motor neurons are said to "originate" in the grey matter, but then sympathetic ones don't. The text goes back and forth between "neurons" (i.e. nerve cells) and "fibers" (i.e. their axons). Etc... etc...

[edit] Health

Can there be 4565added a possible section which describes which nutrients are used by the Motor Neurons and what a person may be able to eat in order to improve the function of these?71.112.214.88

Eat well-balanced food (vegetables, fruits, meat if you want), drink enough water (about 2 l a day) and get some exercise. Do you think every single part of the body needs its specific food or even supplementary stuff? Don't worry too much about that. --84.161.226.95 00:07, 3 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] upper and kower motoneuron

Hi! How come the article doesn't mention the existance of the corticospinal tract = upper motor neuron? The reference "corticospinal tract" below the picture doesn't point out that this is the first part of it and important concerning diseases like ALS. --134.2.164.10 23:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. You should be bold and add the content. --Selket Talk 23:59, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Practically no scientific article whether dealing with physiology or development will include "upper motor neurons" in the generic term "motor neurons". They are very different in every aspect of their physiology or ontogeny. As far as I am aware the correct term for them is "premotor neurons"". This said, they could be mentioned as controlling the activity of motor neurons. JayFBee
