[edit] Failed GA

Numerous issues here. One, it is thinly referenced, and the refs themselves are improperly marked up and sporadic. In addition, there are significant grammar issues (see the lead "between in") and all images need additional fair use rationale (see the images of Halo 2 for an example.) David Fuchs (talk) 19:59, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Downloadable Content

Updated the article with some further information about the next addon. 86.149.214.241 16:27, 1 September 2007 (UTC) (also hadn't noticed I wasn't signed in VonBlade 16:28, 1 September 2007 (UTC))

Gee. Thanks for deleting my update. It wasn't duplicate text as I was clarifying what's new and it wasn't spam/abuse/etc. Yes, let's make Wiki articles have even less content than before and eventually every page will be a stub. Meh. VonBlade 20:09, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Refs

I've changed all of the refs (that were basically links in a ref tag) into full blown annotated links. Should help with the next GA. - X201 13:12, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] 14 September 2007 edits

I've reverted the edits that were made by an IP editor for a number of reasons 1) A lot of changes were made that were not supported by the existing citations and no new citations were added to support the changes. 2) The original paragraph was Europe centric (European track names etc) Deleting this information and replacing it with a US centric text is just not on. Additional information is just that additional we don't just erase information from Wikipedia to suit our own viewpoint.
Later today I will use the info provided by the IP user and add sections to the article pointing out different names etc. - X201 08:03, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] MotorStorm - Violent?

Just a question. Does MotorStorm's content is violent? If so, then why. Professional Gamer 18:55, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

The only thing violent I've noticed is that ATVs and Motorcycle riders can kick each other off.--Playstationdude 01:01, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Glitch

Does anyone know if anything happens if you download the time trial add-on before the 1.2 update, because I think it is what stops the game from coming up on my ps3. I also know that it isn't my disc.--Playstationdude 00:55, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Yep, it causes problems if you do it it in the wrong order. I'll reply on your talk page. - X201 08:04, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Update version 3.0

Whenever I played MotorStorm, it did'nt announced the 3.0. Professional Gamer 17:45, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Are you in the US?. The patch has been available in Europe since the date in the citation. I'll remove the fact tag (because there's already a citation) and add Europe before the date to clarify it - X201 19:38, 1 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes. I'm from US. My US version has'nt announced the 3.0 version yet. Professional Gamer 18:35, 2 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Prices

Should we include the prices of the downloadable content on the playstation store? America, European and UK? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.105.19.210 (talk) 21:33, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

No. See WP:NOT#DIR Item No. 4 - X201 (talk) 22:40, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Update

MotorStorm Wikia has been announced and was created.

[edit] Game reception section

Sorry I don't know how to create a new heading so I put one here. Perhaps some analysis of the game would be of worth? Maybe a 'criticisms' section? I bought the game myself and was disappointed with some minor aspects that really should not be in a game with PS3's alleged muscle. That is, the bushes, mud and flying dirt are 2D sprites. This is acceptable say, 10 years ago in 'Doom' but quite bizarre in the current state of software development. Several reviews on the internet mention the sprite issue. That more people have not apparently spotted this and come to the consensus that this is unacceptable I find quite surprising.

Other flaws that are apparent:

  • Cars ghost right through bushes, the 'leaves' stick up into the car, through the car, totally unaffected.
  • Poor 'patchwork quilt' type textures on the terrain and on the mountain peak on the vehicle choice screen.

Basically, I am saying that perhaps we should be more thorough on a game article, pointing out both flaws and successes. :) 74.210.56.135 (talk) 07:23, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm going to put a reception section up at some point. A lot of the things you mention are things that you have spotted yourself, a users personal observations are not added to Wikipedia because they are Original Research (WP:OR will explain it better than I can). I'll keep an eye out of the things you mentioned but if reviewers in reliable magazines/websites haven't spotted them there won't be a citable reference for them. Wikipedia articles should be balanced (WP:NPOV), this is usually addressed in the reception section of an article to cover magazine/website reviews and ratings. - X201 (talk) 11:45, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] MotorStorm's Japanese Game Name (Request)

Should we add the Japanese name of MotorStorm? Just wanting to imporve the aricle for Japanese users about this game. 70.45.180.203 (talk) 17:37, 9 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] the song by elite force

When I click on the elite force link, it gives me something of a star strek game?

It used to be a red link (not linked to article) then someone created a redirect page for the Star trek article without following the golden rule of checking what linked there and then correcting it. Have fixed it now, thanks. - X201 (talk) 15:44, 5 June 2008 (UTC)
