The mottled grouper (Mycteroperca rubra) is a species of fish in the Serranidae family. It is found in Albania, Algeria, Angola, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cameroon, Cape Verde, the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Croatia, Cyprus, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Greece, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Malta, Mauritania, Morocco, Netherlands Antilles, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Portugal, Sao Tomé and Principe, Senegal, Serbia and Montenegro, Sierra Leone, Slovenia, Spain, Syria, Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, and Western Sahara.
