"Motownphilly" was Boyz II Men's 1991 debut single for their debut album, Cooleyhighharmony. The single was a success peaking at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Bell Biv DeVoe, whose Michael Bivins co-wrote the song, also makes a guest appearance on the song. You can also hear Nathan in the first verse give credit in the line "Boyz II Men ABC-BBD".
The video for the song was filmed in various locations in Philadelphia, the group's home city. It also features Bell Biv DeVoe and Another Bad Creation, both name-dropped in the song. "Motownphilly" was also featured in the Rockstar-created game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2004.
A music video appeared on "The New Mickey Mouse Club." The video featured Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Matt Morris, Marc Warden and Dale Godboldon.
