Motorway Patrol is a televised New Zealand police show. Police pull over suspects on the motorways of Auckland, New Zealand for all sorts of suspected infractions of the law, including dangerous driving, speeding and when vehicles are 'unroadworthy'. There are major road accidents, suspects caught with illegal substances and much more, thus offering a certain type of drama and action for the viewer.

The show is made by greenstone Pictures[2] and has been running for a number of years. Eight series have been made to date (April '07) as well as a number of themed specials. The show is primarily popular in New Zealand but also has a very large following in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Motorway Patrol is currently shown at 7:30pm - 8:30pm on Channel Nine in Australia, and usually at 9.30pm on Tuesdays on TV2 in New Zealand as well as on the cable channel "Men and Motors" in the UK. It is filmed on the motorways around and in Auckland, New Zealand. Each show is between 21'30" and 22'30" (excluding ads) as per TVNZ transmission guidelines and fills a 30 minute TV slot.
