The Motorway D3 (formerly D18), sometimes called the Kysuce Motorway, is a motorway in northern Slovakia. Initially, it is supposed to be only a semi-motorway. It lies on these E-roads: E50, E75 and E442.
It starts at the motorway junction with the D1, bypassing Žilina, then goes to the north around Kysucké Nové Mesto and Čadca, having an interchange with the R5, and ends near the village of Skalité, where it crosses the Polish border.
From the total length of 59 km, there are (as of December 2007):
- 7.5 (+1.7) km of full motorway in operation (except km 5.0-6.6)
- 6,4 km of semi-motorway in operation
- 1.6 km of upgrade under construction
- 3 km of semi-motorway under construction (open 2010?)
- 41,8 km of semi-motorway planned
