Motorex is a Swiss oil blending and manufacturing company located in Langenthal Switzerland. It is currently the largest oil blending and manufacturing company in Switzerland and ships to over 60 countries.[1] The Bucher AG Group owns Motorex and it's affiliate companies; Motorex-Toptech and Bucher AG Langenthal.   • 1917: the company is founded, specializing in leather and floor care products.
  • 1938: the company relocated to Langenthal.
  • 1947: The company starts selling lubricants under the brand name "Motorex", derived from its previous name Rex. It sells roughly one drum of oil per day.
  • 1965: shoe and floor care products are discontinued, and gear and engine oils climbed to 1,200 tonnes.
  • 1987: first Motorex television commercial.
  • 2007: The Bucher-Motorex Group is 90 years old.[3]

Motorex is a sponsor of the KTM teams on many different motorcycle and dirt bike circuits around the world. A few examples of the different circuits are Motocross, Moto GP and Enduro among others. Other sponsored motorcycle racing teams are Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha.[4] Some of the more "well-known" riders that Motorex sponsors are racing on the AMA Suberbike Circuit, this inlude the following; Ben Spies, Mat Mladin, Tommy Hayden, Tom Sykes and Atsushi Watanabe.

Motorex offers lubricants for virtually all domestic, commercial and industrial applications. Some of the bigger, current product brands offered by Motorex for motor oils include:

- for passenger cars: Xperience, Select, Profile, Edition, Topaz

- for motorcycles: Power Synt, Cross Power, Top Speed, Formula, Legend, Racing GP, Speed Mix

- for heavy duty vehicles/Transport: Focus, MC Power Plus, Universal, ECO FS

- for marine: Ocean FS, Ocean SP, Jet Speed

- for agricultural applications: Farmer MC, Farmer UNI, Extra SAE, Solomix, Forest & Garden

Other types of products made by Motorex include:

- Transmission fluids, fork oil, chain care, clean & care products, brake fluid, antifreeze, workshop products, coolants, greases, maintenance products and additives.

Motorex also produces specialty products for ski resorts, trains, bicycle products, specialty racing oils and fluids and biodegradable products as well.

In 2007, Motorex was voted 2nd best brand/most trusted oil in Switzerland, The best was Castrol.[5] Motorex is best known as "the company with the green drum", this is because every drum of oil produced from motorex is shipped in a completely Motorex green color. Under the brand Motorex, they produce heavy industry, car, marine use, biodegradable and motorsports oils.[6]
