Motobu-ryu is one of oldest schools of Karate founded by Choki Motobu. The current Sōke of Motobu-ryu is Chosei Motobu, the son of Choki Motobu.[1]
Motobu Udun-di created by Choyu Motobu also call Motobu-ryu. It is a combination of the native Okinawan art of Karate and koryu ("old school") Japanese martial arts. Thus, the unarmed combat training is roughly equal parts striking and grappling. The weapons training includes both Okinawan kobudō and Japanese weapons such as the katana (sword), the yari (spear), and the naginata (a polearm similar to the glaive). [2]The current Sōke of Motobu Udundi is Chosei Motobu.[3]
