Mothers of Incarcerated Sons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mothers of Incarcerated Sons is a nonprofit group formed by Sherry Grace on Mother's Day 2001. It offers support to mothers whose children are caught within the legal system. It provides legal services to inmates, and assists with acquiring housing and jobs after their release. MIS has more than 200 members in six states, and communicates and visits inmates in 85 different prisons. The group is largely funded by Grace, who contributes her own salary to pay for phone bills, postage, and the printing of a newsletter.
