[edit] Plot Synopsis
PART ONE
The episode starts out with Emma and her friend Manny sitting in Emma's room at her computer. Emma is reading an email from her online friend, Jordan. Then Spike (Emma's mom) enters. She looks at her reunion website. Spike says that this will be her ten year high school reunion.
Emma, Manny, and JT are carrying the reunion boxes inside their future school, Degrassi Community School. It is revealed that Jordan got 1,000 signatures on the wildlife petition, and that he lives in Yellowknife.
Joey and Lucy are at Joey's car lot, and Angela is with them, who will become a recurring cast member in season 2. Lucy begins talking to Joey about his dead wife, but Joey quickly changes the topic.
Back at the school, Emma, Manny, and JT are meeting Mr. Simpson (Snake) for the first time. At that time, Toby walks up with his father and Principal Radditch. JT recognizes Toby from summer camp, and they have a secret handshake which is never done or mentioned again in the series. Then, Emma and Manny sneak into the computer lab so Emma can check her email.
There is a very short scene wear Snake is going through some old photos from the '80s.
The now famous Caitlin Ryan is riding to Degrassi in her limo. She is talking to her fiancée, Keith, on her cell phone. She is talking him into coming to the reunion with her. Caitlin walks into Degrassi and meets up with Snake, who is now a teacher at Degrassi. Caitlin presents a headband as her greatest memory of Degrassi. It is revealed that the fedora is Joey's favorite memory.
Joey gets out of his car with Lucy and sees Caitlin standing in the window. They stare at each other for a few seconds.
In the computer lab, Emma gets an email from Jordan saying that he wants to meet her when his class is on a field trip.
Caitlin tells everyone that she is marrying Keith, and that they're all invited. Joey says that he will not be attending the reunion.
In the next scene, Emma, Manny, JT, and Toby are at the park with popsicles and water guns. Toby warns Emma that meeting someone from the net is dangerous. Emma responds by saying "I've known Jordan a lot longer than I've known you".
Back at the Nelson household, Spike and Caitlin are on Emma's computer looking at the reunion website. Spike asks Emma if she has a boyfriend even though she has not read Emma's email. Later, Emma is on the computer and Manny is on Emma's bed clipping her toenails. Manny suggests that Toby was right, and that it would be dangerous to meet Jordan.
At the party, Spike, Snake, Lucy, Joey, Caitlin, and Keith are sitting around a table talking about their jobs. Keith is a director, Joey is a used car salesman, Snake is a teacher, Caitlin has her own TV show, and Lucy is in college. They then begin discussing the accident with Lucy and Wheels. Then a commercial by Joey airs, which everyone thinks is funny. Keith tells Joey that he needs to hire a real actor, and avoid the used car salesmen vibe. Caitlin tells Joey that he is still "the same old Joey". Joey says he has changed and tells Caitlin she's changed too. Joey goes to get a drink and has a discussion with Snake. He says he doesn't like Caitlin's boyfriend and he is tired of everyone feeling sorry for him.
Later that night when Emma is in bed, she hears Spike, Caitlin, and Lucy coming in. They appear to be drunk, and then Caitlin comes to talk to Emma. They have a talk about Emma and her "boyfriend", although Caitlin doesn't know that Emma's "boyfriend" is a cyber stalker. Caitlin tells Emma that she should "go for it".
In the kitchen, Spike and Lucy decide that Keith was not one of Caitlin's best choices.
Emma then heads upstairs to go back to bed. She gets on the computer and sends an email to Jordan saying that she would like to meet him.
PART TWO
Spike is getting ready to leave for the reunion and Emma lies to her mom saying she is going to watch TV all night with Manny, when she is really going to go meet Jordan.
At Degrassi, Ashley and Terri give Caitlin a tour of Degrassi, while Keith goes to get drinks because he doesn't want to go on the tour.
On the phone, Emma tells Manny that she wants to stay home and watch a wildlife show, so Manny won't come.
Joey and Caitlin become friends again when Alison walks up. Alison says that Joey's commercial was "sexy" and it almost made her buy a car.
Emma goes to a hotel to meet Jordan but she doesn't see him.
At Toby's house, JT and Toby are sitting on the couch when Manny comes because she is worried about Emma. Toby fears that Emma went to meet Jordan.
Joey hides behind a corner at Degrassi, while Keith and Alison are discussing Caitlin. They flirt, and Keith says he doesn't really want to marry Caitlin.
At the hotel, Jordan's teacher, Mr. Nystrom, sees Emma and invites her to the hotel room to meet Jordan.
Toby is trying to read Emma's email, but he doesn't know the password. The hint is "mom's favorite rock band".
In the hotel room, Mr. Nystrom is sitting on the bed with Emma eating pizza. He knocks on the wall and tells the "guys" that the pizza's there. He tells them about Yellowknife, and says they're making a video journal of their trip.
Emma lies to Nystrom that she forgot her bag, and she locks herself in the bathroom. She then knows that Nystrom is Jordan.
At Degrassi, Caitlin ("the environmental crusader") makes a speech. Then Joey and Keith get into a fight over Caitlin. Keith throws a punch at Joey, Joey chokes Keith, and Joey takes Keith's cell phone. Alison tells Caitlin that Keith has doubts about getting married. Then Radditch puts on some music.
Jordan tells Emma that he didn't want to reveal his real age because he was afraid she'd stop writing him. Jordan promises Emma that if she comes out of the bathroom, he'll let her leave.
In the bathroom at Degrassi, Joey and Caitlin have a talk. Caitlin says she is relieved that she doesn't have to marry Keith, and Caitlin asks Joey how he knew that Julia was the right girl. They then reconcile.
At the Isaacs household, Toby finds out that Spike's favorite band was the Pogues, and he gets into Emma's email.
At the hotel, Emma exits the bathroom, and tries to leave, but Jordan grabs her and tells her not to make any noise.
Toby discovers that Jordan has been reading Emma's emails and finding out what she likes.
JT, Toby and Manny run to Degrassi to get Spike so they can save Emma. When they arrive, Spike and Snake are dancing. Then JT, Toby and Manny go home, and Spike and Snake go to find Emma.
They break in the room and save Emma. Snake threatens to break Jordan's neck if he tries to escape.
At the Nelson household, the police take Emma's computer. Then, Spike and Emma have a talk and they both yell at each other. Emma tells Spike that she doesn't remember what it was like to be 12. They both begin crying, and share an emotional moment.
[edit] Trivia
After Toby, Manny, and JT hack Emma's email, Toby scrolls through Emma's addresses and you see Jordan on there several times.
In the beginning of this episode, Emma leaves her computer on, and her inbox opened. Later that same day, when Spike goes on, she obviously never sees the message box or e-mails.
In these first two episodes, Joey Jeremiah's daughter is called Allison and Ally but in all subsequent mentions, she's been called Angela and Angie, but Joey's late wife's name, Julia, has been the same through out the series. Of course, there would be no mention of her son Craig Manning until the beginning of the second season.
Toby is not wearing glasses in this episode.
This episode deals with cyber stalkers.
In the version on The-N, it seems as if the episode would end just as Emma e-mails her online correspondent and agrees to meet him.
Only JT, Toby, Emma, Manny, Terri and Ashley appear in this episode, the others will debut later.
Ashley (Melissa McIntyre) appears in this episode but is not listed in the end credits, although, Terri (Christina Schmidt), was not in the episode any more than Ashley was, but she was credited.
This was shown on The-N as a prequel to the series. It aired the week after "Under Pressure" was shown as the Season Finale.
The title is from the 1972 Paul Simon song.
