Mother Teresa Catholic Elementary School is a Roman Catholic elementary and middle school in Oakville, Ontario. It is widely recognized among the board, along with other schools, to participate in many community and church events and functions.

[edit] Administration

The current principal of the school is Christina Daly, and the current Vice - Principal is Pat Vigna.

[edit] Activities

Some of the annual activities that Mother Teresa students participate in are a yearly Ottawa trip for grade eights, a trip to Camp Tanamakoon (in Algonquin Park) for the grade sevens and a ski trip for both the grades seven and eight. Students participate in other functions, such as multiple can drives, movie nights and other functions.

The grade eights also participate in an annual Confirmation Retreat at Christ the King Cathedral in Hamilton, Ontario.

The principals of the school prohibit games such as football, soccer and baseball. They also banned sports that use hard balls excluding basketball. Some people say the only reason basketball isn't banned is because the vice principal Pat Vigna is fond of it. Tag was also banned for a short while during 2006. It is also considered unacceptable to climb on snowbanks during the winter.

[edit] Mother Teresa

The school is named after the beloved Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a Catholic nun who founded several missionaries in India.
