[edit] Other media
CBS aired a Saturday morning cartoon, Grimmy, featuring the characters of Mother Goose and Grimm in 1991. The show is often shown in syndication. It had also featured early animation work by Stephen Hillenburg who worked on this show before Rocko's Modern Life and his own creation SpongeBob SquarePants. Grimm was a guest at Blondie and Dagwood's 75th anniversary party.
[edit] Childhood
Mike Peters was classified as "weird" "retarded" and "awkward" His mother states that she's glad he went into comics, instead of politics, because the world would have yet another "out of his mind" politic.
[edit] Characters
- Mother Goose: The senile head of the family, and Grimmy's owner. Voiced by Mitzi McCall in the series.
- Grimmy: The manic dog and main character. Voiced by Charlie Brill in the series.
- Ralph, a hound of indeterminate breed. Tends to be more intellectual and politically conservative.
- Attila: Mother Goose's cat and often a target of Grimmy. Voiced by Greg Burson in the series.
In addition, there are often one-week stretches where real-life or other characters are inserted into the storyline. They include:
- Trouble Helmsley: A Maltese dog, portrayed as a stereotypical spoiled rich girl. Trouble is a caricature of the real-life dog of the same name who inherited a $12,000,000 trust fund from Leona Helmsley upon her death.
- Fidel Castro: The retired former leader of Cuba, working as a handyman. Overtly communist and old. Only appeared the week of March 31, 2008.
- Hello Kitty: Appears as a stereotype of overexposed celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan. Only appeared week of April 7, 2008.
