Talk:Moscow gold
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This article does not say how much gold was sent to Russia. It tells the dollar value but not what year the gold was valued at that amount, at the time of transfer or today? It should say; the weight, the purity, perhaps the form of the gold, coins or bars, and perhaps some of the history of this gold. Is it, perhaps, some of the gold remaining from the Spanish conquest of the Americas in the 1600's? In which case, there would be a particular kind of justice in not returning it to Spain and if it is to be returned to anyone, perhaps it should go to the countries from which it was taken hundreds of years ago.

- Is it, perhaps, some of the gold remaining from the Spanish conquest of the Americas in the 1600's? Of course it wasn't. The gold of the conquest was employed in cathedrals and wars os the 16th and 17th centurys. The most of the altarpieces of the european baroque was made with american gold, which was distributed along all Europe by means of the Religions wars of these centurys. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.218.21.42 (talk) 11:05, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
