Talk:Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field

To-do list for Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field:

Here are some tasks you can do:

Note: For 2005 Taylor Field eliminated the standing room seats and set the seating capacity at 28,800 Cite: from a news release from CJME Regina

With 1,400 fewer tickets available, the CEO of the Roughriders isn't surprised to see the "sold-out" sign in the window for the upcoming Labor Day Classic. All 28,800 tickets for the annual clash with Winnipeg are gone, 10-days before kick-off September 4th. A call has been made to the CFL and TSN to lift the blackout.

This year, Jim Hopson points out the team doesn't have the luxury of additional standing room in the south end zone at Taylor Field. He says some portable bleachers could be an option for coming years, and further down the road, part of the 'Riders' capital plan is to expand seating capacity at Taylor Field to about 32,000.

Meantime, Hopson says ticket sales are picking up for the game against the unbeaten BC Lions this Saturday, since the Labor Day Classic is a sell-out.

    [edit] New name

The official press release doesn't say anything about the name being "Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field" - it's just "Mosaic Stadium". heqs 23:21, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

There is also this news story which mentions the longer name, but it seems to have been written before the official announcement. Qutezuce 07:59, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Interesting. I heard the longer name last night on the news, but I don't have a reference for it. They also commented that the field itself will continue to be Taylor Field, but that the stadium will be Mosaic Stadium. How does that work? -- timc | Talk 13:02, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
I guess it would be like Invesco Field at Mile High or something like that. It will be interesting to see what happens with it. The news story really makes it sound like Taylor Field is to remain part of the name, with his family being involved and all. It's odd that the press release really doesn't jive with it. I imagine there would be backlash in the community over this? heqs 15:32, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Here is an article that should clear it up. It says the field is still Taylor Field, but everything else is Mosaic Stadium. Qutezuce 07:08, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
